Macau Grand Prix 2026: On the Night of the Finals, Sleep at a Macau Sauna
The 73rd Macau Grand Prix runs from 19 to 22 November 2026. On the first three nights another race day follows, so most people head back to their hotel bed. On the night of the finals, Sunday 22 November, you can stay over at a 24-hour Macau sauna. Here is how that works at Shang Pin Spa and Yu Sauna: the free lobby rest lounge, paid private rest rooms, the hour and the add-ons on the recliner.

If you are in Macau for a few nights of the Grand Prix, most of those nights will end in your hotel room, with an alarm set for the morning because another day of racing is ahead. Of the four nights, only one is followed by a morning with no race to get to. Sleeping at a sauna may sound a little unfamiliar the first time you hear of it. In practice, it only means that your bed for the night is a recliner in the venue’s rest lounge instead of the one in your hotel room, and once your hour is over you do not have to go back out at all.
Four days of racing, and three nights back at the hotel
This year brings the 73rd Macau Grand Prix, from Thursday 19 November 2026 through Sunday the 22nd. The 19th is practice, the 20th is qualifying, the 21st brings the motorcycle race final among others, and the 22nd brings the FR World Cup and GT World Cup finals among others. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all good nights for a visit. Afterwards the surest plan is to go back to your hotel and sleep in your own bed, so on these nights it does not matter whether a venue allows overnight stays.
The night of the finals: a recliner in the lobby lounge
Sunday 22 November, the night of the finals, is the one to stay over. Among the venues on this site, Shang Pin Spa and Yu Sauna are both open 24 hours, both allow overnight stays, and both let you use the recliners in their lobby rest lounge free of charge.
Shang Pin Spa is in Lisboeta Macau, in Cotai. The venue is open 24 hours a day, and therapists work there from 15:00 until 06:00.
Yu Sauna (八湯御桑拿) sits in NAPE on the Macau peninsula, on level 4 of the New Orient Landmark Hotel, with a hot pool hall, a Japanese hinoki dry sauna and a glass-walled sauna room. It is also open 24 hours a day, with therapists working from 13:00 until 06:00 the following morning.
Even if you arrive after the finals, the therapists at both venues are still on shift. Neither venue closes in the middle of the night, so once your hour is done, a recliner in the rest lounge is where you sleep.
The hour before you sleep
Choosing works the same way at both venues. First you name a series from the menu to the manager. The therapists on shift are then introduced to you face to face, one by one, and once you have met them, you give the manager your choice.
The massage is one to one in a private room, and at Yu Sauna that room has its own bathtub. How the hour goes can be left entirely to her, and if there is anything you would like, just say so. There is no one else in the room. Of the four Grand Prix nights, this is the only one where nobody needs to check the time afterwards: the recliner is waiting just outside. So far, everything guests have told us has been good.

Add-ons on the recliner, then rest where you are
After the hour, you take a recliner in the lobby rest lounge, and a different masseuse takes over for the add-on services. There are eight on the list, such as a head massage or ear cleaning, and the choice is made after you sit down. When they are done there is no need to move. The same recliner is where you rest for the night.
Questions
Does sleeping in the lobby rest lounge cost extra? No. The lobby rest lounges at Shang Pin Spa and Yu Sauna are both free. The private rest rooms are the paid option, and the price and hours are given when you book.
Shang Pin Spa or Yu Sauna? Both are open 24 hours and both allow overnight stays. The difference is where they are: Yu Sauna is in NAPE on the Macau peninsula, and Shang Pin Spa is in Cotai. Pick the one on the side of Macau you will be setting off from on Monday.
Roughly what does it cost? As of October 2026, Yu Sauna ranges from MOP 1,199 to 7,399 and Shang Pin Spa from MOP 1,199 to 6,699, with a 10% service charge added at both. The menu itself sets the final price, which can differ by service, duration and time of day, with the current menu confirmed when you book. You can ask about the details of each item at that point too.
Booking the night of the finals

Two add-on services on the recliner are free at either venue, for bookings made through this site only, and you choose them once you are on the recliner. Consultation is free. Tell us the date (for example Sunday 22 November), how many of you are coming, where you are staying, whether you would like Shang Pin Spa or Yu Sauna, and the series you have in mind, through our contact page, and we will arrange the rest.
